Building a Scarecrow, 2.0

Well, the Scarecrow Project I told you about yesterday didn’t go quite as planned.  After spending quite a long time trying to get the burlap-covered hands to look just right, and ending up with a big stringy mess, we opted to radically change the design.

As you can see from the picture above, one of our Wallies has taken the scarecrow’s place.  With a few hooks holding him to the wood and some hot glue holding his hat on his head, he’s all ready to frighten the neighbors.  Under the scarecrow’s left arm you can see Bob peering out the window at the spooky scene in front of him.

In other haunt news, tonight, while we were working in the garage, we suddenly heard voices coming from the front yard.  I peeked out to see a car slowly driving past the house.  I could hear at least three people inside saying things like, “Wow!  Look at that!  Did you see that?  Check that out!”  I had to smile as I turned back to the garage.  It’s moments like that that make all of this worth it.

Less than one week until Halloween!  Next up, thumping coffin lid…
